Coshocton County Memorial Hospital

Today I talked with the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) about youth volunteers. Their youth volunteer representative was happy to answer some questions:

What qualities do you look for in a youth volunteer?
A volunteer is dependable, has initiative, is cheerful, neat, responsible, mature, keeps information about patients confidential, and has a willingness to work at the hospital.

What activities do youth volunteers currently do?
Transport people in wheelchairs, work in offices, file records, scan, do patient care, visit with patients. Activities are mainly based on interest and comfort of the volunteer.

What activities would you like youth volunteers to do in the future?
More involved with patients and families. Assisting on the floor, in the waiting rooms. Working all through the year instead of just during the summer.

How many youth volunteers do you have?
None currently, six interested.

CCMH is in the process of changing some parts of its youth volunteer application and duties. There is no application currently on their website. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Jennifer Brennenman at jennifer.brennenman@ccmh.com or call the hospital.

Thank you Coshocton County Memorial Hospital
