Clary Gardens

Yesterday I talked to the director of Clary Gardens. She was happy to answer some questions about using youth volunteers at Clary Gardens.

What qualities do you look for in a youth volunteer?
Volunteers should be outgoing, energetic, and have good communication skills. Other skills needed at the garden can be learned. If volunteers are interested in helping with programs they should be good with kids.

What activities do youth volunteers do now?
Teaching others, acting as guides in programs, helping with crafts, etc.

What activities would you like to see youth  volunteers doing in the future?
Anything, including their own personal projects, working with the lead gardener, and cleaning up trails.

How many youth volunteers do you have?
2- 12 depends on the event.

How do you apply to become a volunteer at Clary Gardens?
Stop in and talk to Chris, Clary Gardens Director, at the office.

Clary gardens welcomes anyone interested in volunteering and is open to individual and group projects at the garden.

Here is Clary Gardens' website link if you are interested in volunteering.
