December 13th:
Family Fun at The Shops at Worthington Place

Join Columbus Children's Theatre for the holiday farmer's market at The Shops at Worthington Place. You will help create crafts with kids and conduct our prize raffle. Put in a few more volunteer hours with your family before the end of the year.
Gift Wrapping Volunteers Needed
Ohio Nature Education
Season of Caring Opportunity
Wrap purchase s(books) for donations to Ohio Nature Education! We provide a home for 50+ permanently injured animals which we incorporate into environmental education programs for people of all ages. Any time you can provide this day would be very much appreciated. Sign up if you are interested.
Volunteers will wrap purchases at Half Price Books for donations to Ohio Nature Education(ONE) from 12/13-12/24 during various hours. 2-4 hour shifts available.
Dickens of a Christmas

“Dickens is an event open to the public that captures the spirit of holidays past at Ohio Village, where Charles Dickens’ festive and enduring vision comes to life through jolly carols, decorations and traditions inspired by his colorful tales.”
Purpose Summary:
Dickens of a Christmas is a 19th century Christmas celebration. Volunteers lead activities in all Ohio Village buildings.
Responsibilities:
To engage and encourage visitor participation in a variety of roles while in 1860’s day costume.
Skills Required:
Language Skills: Be able to provide educational information to our guest.
Mathematical Skills: Those working at the Chestnut sales & Cookie sales must have basic addition and subtraction skills.
Technical Skills: Request that volunteers know how to use the fire extinguisher.
Time Commitment:
One time event volunteer. Must be able to perform for the 3 hour duration of the event (breaks will be provided).
Dec. 12, 13, 19, 20
Friday and Saturday shift 5:30pm-9:00pm
Dec 21
Sunday shift 11:30am-5pm
Work Environment:
Volunteers will work in various village buildings performing assigned tasks. This is in a period costume. Volunteer may encounter large crowds in these areas during the evening.
Physical Demands:
These roles require working in possibly cold weather. Most positions are within village buildings but walking in the elements is required to get to the buildings. Volunteers must be willing to wear reproduction mid-19th century costuming and follow costuming guidelines.
Training:
All interested persons are required to attend one training before volunteering.
Age requirement:
12-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
15-17 application must be signed by parent or guardian
18+
Volunteer Notes:
Needs 30 volunteers per day.

Christmas Gala Volunteers
Youth Rise Against All Odds
Season of Caring Opportunity
Youth Rise Against All Odds is hosting a Christmas Gala where they distribute gifts to families.
Volunteers are needed to help in various capacities leading up to the event.
Volunteer activities include but aren't limited to drivers, packers, runners, secretarial work, phone calling and more.
We ask that volunteers submit a resume and preferralby 3 references and a background check.
Court ordered volunteers are welcome to volunteer with us.

Red Kettles Salvation Army

Saturday, November 22- Tuesday, December 24th Mondays-Saturdays
Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is its largest fundraiser, contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to services helping people in Central Ohio.
We need volunteer groups to adopt a Red kettle for a day by organizing teams of friends, family or coworkers to ring the bell for a day! Red Kettle volunteer groups divide the day (10 hours) into five (5) two hour shifts, or a combination of 1-2 hours shifts, based on what works best for your group
We will be holding this event at 80 locations across Franklin and Delaware counties. We will have groups work from 10:00am-8:00pm which can be broken into smaller windows depending on availability.

Miracle on Long Street
St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church
Season of Caring Opportunity
The Miracle on Long Street serves those living in shelters, senior citizens, those in rehab centers and others in need.
Volunteers are needed 10 am-8 pm (flexible shifts within those times). Children are welcome. Day volunteers will be setting up, sorting clothes, preparing toiletry bags for the annual holiday program. Evening volunteers will be serving meals and assisting with the clothing giveaway.
